New Beginnings

It has been about a month since my last post. It was not really my intention to leave this much time between writings but May is a busy month here; The company  I dance with has its final performance, the farm I work for takes part in a local studio tour, and the dance school I help run is gearing up for recital. Not to mention, I am supposed to be making great strides towards my performance piece. Even with all that going on, I am spending most of my time these days in our back yard working in the garden. I am beyond excited to be laying the groundwork for upcoming projects. My goals for the coming months involve natural dyeing, foraged ink making, various methods of eco printing, recycled papermaking, journal binding, and diving into the creative passions I have been dreaming up for years. This spring/summer season brings opportunities like never before and I cannot wait to get my hands dirty. While the decision to leave my current performance position, as well as the arts administration position I work did not come easily, it is a necessary change. Now that I have taken some crucial mourning time over the loss of these jobs, I am able to look forward to my new schedule as a mostly stay at home mom and full time creative with excitement and joy. The possibilities are truly endless and for that I am eternally grateful.
