Katherine Mills-Yatsko (Katie) is an interdisciplinary artist based in West Chester, PA. She holds a BA in Dance and a BS in Studio Art from JMU where she graduated from with multiple awards and honors. Katherine has performed and presented work in Philly and NYC with Long2Dance, Glorify Dance Theatre, and currently performs with Labyrinth Dance Company. After becoming a mother in 2022, Katie's work, previously centered on finding connections between moving and making, expanded to include explorations of motherhood. Katherine's main focus at the moment (in addition to raising her toddler, the "studio gremlin") is an evening length performance exploring the similarities between snails and her experience as a postpartum mother. Inspired in part by the book “The Sound of A Wild Snail Eating” (Bailey 2010), Katherine has truly connected with the snail during her matrescence and is excited to be presenting her work "Slowly, Slowly, we begin again." in September of 2025 at Warwick Furnace Farm.
